Tottenham Hotspur are still keen on Inter Milan central defender Milan Skriniar, according to The Guardian.
The report claims that Spurs are interested in bringing the Slovakian international to the Premier League, but would have to move fast to avoid any prospect of him joining cross-city rivals Chelsea.
The 27-year-old is also said to be on the radar of Paris Saint-Germain, with the French giants reported to have offered €60m (£51.8m) only to have seen their bid rejected by Inter.
Tottenham were heavily linked with a move for the defender in 2020, but eventually ended up signing Joe Rodon from Swansea City late in the summer window. Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio even published photographs showing Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer chief at the time, Steve Hitchen allegedly in Milan holding talks with the Inter star’s agent.
Our View – Skriniar is a man in demand
Tottenham have been linked with a host of defenders ranging from Skriniar’s club team-mate Alessandro Bastoni, to Josko Gvardiol and then a substantial drop in quality with the likes of Clement Lenglet mooted as a target.
Skriniar is arguably the defender most likely to leave Inter this summer with Bastoni having already stated his intention to stay at the San Siro. The Slovak will not be short of offers and it would take some serious financial effort from Spurs if they plan to outbid the likes of PSG and Chelsea.
