Tottenham Hotspur coach Antonio Conte is still planning to bolster his options by bringing in an attacking creative player in this summer transfer window, according to Evening Standard.

Tottenham have been very active in the transfer market so far, having signed the likes of Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Clement Lenglet. They are now close to prising away Djed Spence from Middlesbrough to bolster their backline in the wing-back areas (Football.London).

However, it has now been stated that Conte intends to improve his options even further despite the transfers that have been made so far and has his eye on a playmaker who can make things happen in the final third.

It does make sense why the Italian boss has taken this stance looking at the current squad composition. Conte is known to tweak his attacking options, looking at his previous spells at Chelsea and Inter Milan, for example. He has employed a 3-4-1-2 formation in the past, which could explain the need to bring in a creative attacker.

Following Richarlison’s arrival, Conte would have the option to pair him alongside Harry Kane up front and use a creative attacker in the number ten position. At the same time, it would be best if the new target can also put in a shift on the left wing when needed if the boss shifts back to the 3-4-3 formation.

Lucas Paqueta certainly fits the bill as he can be utilised as an attacking midfielder and even a left-winger due to his versatility. Conte’s side has already been linked with a move for him and has even monitoring his situation at Olympique Lyonnais (Football.London).

Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports recently revealed on Twitter that Olympic Lyon are open to selling Paqueta if their valuation of £55million is met by any interested parties. The Brazilian wants to leave them this summer and is very much intrigued about moving to the Premier League, which would certainly favour those at N17.

That being said, Spurs would need to remain our their toes at all times, as Arsenal, Newcastle United and AS Roma have enquired about Paqueta’s availability. The Gunners, in particular, seem to be a threat as they are confident about convincing him to move to Emirates.
