Heung-min Son has praised the way Tottenham Hotspur have gone about their transfer business this summer, describing the activity as ‘incredible’.

The north Londoners have already brought in five new faces with Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and Clement Lenglet adding to their ranks, with Middlesbrough wing-back Djed Spence said to be set to complete a switch to become the sixth arrival (Football.London).

With Antonio Conte having bolstered his personnel with the club looking to compete on multiple fronts including a return to the Champions League, Son believes that competition for places is healthy while also allowing the Italian to be able to change his tactics when required.

The South Korean, who welcomed Tottenham to his homeland for the past week as part of their pre-season preparations also revealed that he has gelled quickly with Richarlison, following his arrival from Everton.

He told The Athletic: “Competition is always good. You improve yourself and also your team-mates.

“We can rotate, or we can have a different style of football, or we can have different movements.

“Adding players like Richy is incredible. He’s a quality player so I’m really enjoying that. I’ve been with him only four days but he’s become like a really close friend.”

Our View

The Lillywhites have been building a strong squad over the past few weeks with Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici working fast to improve the depth to their ranks.

The signing of Richarlison was particularly a smart move with the Brazilian having impressed at Everton where he made over 150 appearances and netted 53 times for the Toffees whilst also assisting on 14 occasions (Transfermarkt).

There is no doubt that there will be competition for spots in the front three. Dejan Kulusevski was impressive this past season and therefore it is difficult to predict which combination Conte would prefer.
