Fenerbahce centre-back Kim Min-jae is not currently target for Tottenham Hotspur in this summer transfer window, according to South Korean journalist Sungmo Lee.
This latest update followed after L’Equipe journalist Loic Tanzi claimed that an unnamed Premier League team joined the pursuit to sign Min-jae. As such, Tottenham were suggested to be the one who entered the race as they were linked with a move for the defender last month (Takvim).
However, Sungmo Lee was adamant that “there’s no truth” in Spurs supposedly “hijacking” a move for the South Korean centre-half. That being said, he suggested that the current situation could always change in the future, but the north Londoners are not in pursuit at this moment.
Antonio Conte’s side already have already brought in Clement Lenglet from Barcelona on a season-long deal (Daily Mail). However, Lenglet’s arrival would only negate the departure of Joe Rodon, who is said to be on Fulham’s radar, with it claimed that they have contacted Tottenham to discuss a potential move for the Welshman (Football Insider).
RE : Kim Min-jae to Tottenham (for those stories of 'hijacking').
In one word, "there's no truth" in those stories at this stage.(by 17th July) The situation could change in the transfer window, but there's nothing between the two parties at the moment.#Kimminjae #Tottenham

Our View
We could use another centre-back in our squad, considering how Conte uses a three-at-the-back system which calls for the need to maintain a healthy number of options in the defence. Japhet Tangaga is also being linked with an exit, with clubs like AC Milan, Napoli and Bournemouth currently vying to get hold of him (The Athletic).
That calls for the need to bring in another defender given the speculation surrounding the respective futures of Rodon and Tanganga’.
Min-jae, who has earned a name for himself, would be a great option indeed, with his release clause standing at just €20million. However, Spurs must be quick in registering their interest if they want to sign the South Korean international since Napoli and Stade Rennes are actively chasing after the 25-year-old central defender (Loic Tanzi).
