Destiny Udogie will undergo his medical with Tottenham Hotspur in the coming days ahead of sealing a transfer to the north Londoners, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Sky Sports reported earlier today that Spurs will pay Atalanta an initial £15million for the left wing-back, with Udogie to remain at the Serie A side this season.

Spurs have already revamped their left wing-back position by signing Ivan Perisic on a free transfer from Inter Milan to compete with Ryan Sessegnon while Sergio Reguilon has been deemed as surplus to requirements by Antonio Conte and is available for transfer this summer (The Sun).

Manchester City, Brighton and Hove Albion and Inter Milan are all said to have shown an interest in the Italian Under-21 international (Gianluca Di Marzio), who now looks set to become a part of the future at Tottenham.

The 19-year-old wll become the club’s seventh signing of the summer having already brought in the likes of Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence as part of Conte’s rebuild.

Our View:

Udogie is certainly a signing for the future, at 19. We already have Ryan Sessegnon and Perisic on the left-hand side of the defence, keeping hold of the Italian youngster would have hampered his development as it has taken place over the last year or so.

He has showcased great attacking prowess from the wide areas making him suitable for Conte’s style of play. After all, the wing-backs play a major role in the boss’ system in providing a threat in the forward areas. The new signing would also be a perfect natural replacement for Perisic, who can slot into other positions next season in midfield should it be needed.
