Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to monitor Anthony Gordon’s situation at Everton, however, London rivals Chelsea are still thought to be frontrunners for his signature, according to Football.London.
The report claims that the young Evertonian is keen on playing football under Spurs boss Antonio Conte. It was reported by Football.London earlier this summer that Spurs had shown an interest in Gordon while negotiating with the Toffees for Richarlison.
Chelsea are already said to have had a £45million bid for the England Under-21 international rejected by the Toffees, however Gordon is not prepared to push for a move away from his boyhood club.
Everton boss Frank Lampard has already admitted he cannot offer assurances the 21-year-old will stay at Goodison Park beyond the end of the current transfer window (Independent).
Our View
Everton have already lost Richarlison this summer and it is highly unlikely that they will want to sell Anthony Gordon. The youngster won many admirers after breaking into the Everton first-team last season.
Chelsea are prepared to spend big money this season and it seems unlikely that Spurs would be prepared to enter a bidding war at this stage of the window, when most of their focus is primarily on getting players out of the door.
