Udinese left wingback Destiny Odogie has been undergoing his medical with Tottenham Hotspur today ahead of sealing his transfer from Udinese, according to Football.London.
It emerged last week that the talented Italian defender is set to sign a five-year deal with the Lilywhites before being sent back to Udinese for the remainder of the current season. (Fabrizio Romano).
Alasdair Gold revealed in his article for Football.London that Udogie will join for an initial fee of £15million rising to £18million.
The 19-year-old left-back is expected to become Spurs’ seventh signing of the summer following the likes of Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Fraser Forster, Clement Lenglet, Ivan Perisic and Djed Spence.
Udogie arrived in London yesterday and spent last night at Hotspur Way ahead of undertaking his medical test.
Our View
Udogie is tipped to be on the verge of a call up to the senior Italian national team and it is important that he continues to get regular first-team football to continue his development. With Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon providing plenty of cover on the left flank at present, it makes perfect sense for him to return to Udinese.
£15million could prove to be a masterstroke by Fabio Paratici if Udogie continues to develop at the rate he has done so in recent years.
