Tottenham Hotspur are keen to open talks with Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech over a possible move to North London this summer, according to Dutch news outlet AD.

The report claims that Antonio Conte wants to add the versatile Moroccan to his ranks having seemingly failed in their pursuit to sign Nicolo Zaniolo, with the talented Italian set to stay at Rome as things stand, having been persuaded to remain with the Serie A outfit.

Ziyech is said to be keen on leaving Stamford Bridge due to the lack of regular game time, with a move to former club Ajax being touted possible if the Eredivisie champions sell Antony to Manchester United.

The Moroccan, who joined Chelsea from Ajax in 2020 for £33.3m (Sky Sports) played 44 times for Thomas Tuchel’s team last season scoring eight goals and providing six assists across all competitions (transfermarkt).

Our View

HZiyech is a player with a lot of quality and there is no doubt about it. He would be a great addition to Antonio Conte’s set up but I am afraid he will not get the regular game time that he craves.

Ziyech’s aspirations of making to the World Cup squad received a huge boost with manager Vahid Halilhodzic being fired last month. The 29-year-old will want to be playing regularly heading into the tournament and it is difficult to see how he would feature week in, week out ahead of the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, Lucas Moura,  Richarlison, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.
