Bryan Gil could be set to have the opportunity to stake a claim for a place in Antonio Conte’s first-team plans for the upcoming season,

The Spanish international only arrived in north London last summer as one of Fabio Paratici’s first signings in a £21.6m transfer from Sevilla, with Erik Lamela moving to the La Liga side as part of the deal (Sky Sports).

Gil was sent out on loan in January for the remainder of the campaign in January to Valencia, with Conte questioning in a press conference just a few days later whether he was ready for the demands of the Premier League (Guardian).

The Evening Standard have now claimed that Gil will be given the opportunity during the club’s pre-season tour of South Korea to impress Conte and the rest of his backroom staff, despite the Italian’s reservations about his suitability for the English top flight.

Our View – Another loan beckons

With Tottenham set to board their flight to Asia on Saturday, Gil now has it all to do if he is to catch the eye enough to remain in north London next season.   His style of play and build is much more suited to La Liga, alternatively, if Spurs do decide a loan is in their best interests, it has to be to another Premier League side to fully put him to the test.
