Radio Marca have revealed that Valencia have decided to cash in on Tottenham target Giorgi Mamardashvili this summer.

It was reported by a 90 min back in May that Mamardashvili is one of four goalkeepers on Tottenham’s wishlist to succeed Hugo Lloris, alongside Raya, Diogo Costa and Andre Onana.

Radio Marca have now revealed that Valencia have been ‘forced’ into putting their number one up for sale as they need to raise funds this summer to offset their losses.

The report explains that Mamardashvili’s agent, Levan Seturidze, has already begun work on securing a move away from Mestalla for his client.

However, it is said that Spurs are far from the only Premier League side who are interested in the 22-year-old, with the likes of Aston Villa, Chelsea, Brighton, Burnley and Manchester United, also thought to have their eye on him.

The publication explains that while Valencia are yet to receive any official bid for Mamardashvili, the goalkeeper’s representatives are convinced that a suitable offer will arrive this summer.

Radio Marca add that while the La Liga club have not officially named a price for the Georgia international, he is expected to cost around €20m-€25m (£17m-£21.4m), a far cry from the reported €‎100million (£88million) release clause which was contained in the contract he signed last September (Football.London).

Our View

Tottenham appear to be focused on getting the David Raya deal over the line at the moment but if Brentford do not budge on their £40m asking price for the Spaniard, I expect the Lilywhites to turn their attention to other targets.

The one variable that sets Mamardashvili apart from the other targets is his age as he could potentially serve as our number one for more than a decade. However, as things stand, it does not seem as if Spurs are seriously considering a move for the Valencia star.
