Tottenham Hotspur could be set to face competition from rivals Chelsea for Everton striker Richarlison, according to Sky Sports.
Chelsea are said to be mulling over whether to make a move for the Brazilian as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who looks set to re-join former side Inter Milan on loan.
Everton are expecting to receive an offer from Tottenham for the 25-year-old, who scored ten Premier League goals for the Toffees last season after they narrowly avoided relegation to the Championship (transfermarkt).
The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare claimed on Twitter last week that Richarlison is high up on Spurs’ summer shopping list as Antonio Conte looks to improve his side for the ability to compete both in the Premier League and Champions League next season.
Chelsea could sign as many as three forwards, claim Sky, with Richarlison mentioned along with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona.
Our View – Winks could be the key
With Everton said to be keen on signing Harry Winks, the midfielder could prove to play a key part in ensuring Spurs land Richarlison over any of their rivals.
Whether or not Winks will be used as part of the deal, or will be a separate transaction is remained to be seen, however, Frank Lampard does appear to be very interested in having the England international to help fill the number 6 role.
Given Spurs may hold the trump card in Winks, hopefully, Chelsea do not just show interest to try and drive up the price for their rivals.
