Tottenham are still interested in signing versatile Wolves winger Adama Traore with Antonio Conte keen on adding another attacking option to his ranks before the transfer window closes, according to The Express.
Traore is out of contract at Molineux at the end of the current campaign and it is felt a cut-price deal could be reached, with Wolves interested in recouping some sort of transfer fee rather than seeing him walk away on a free after he rejected a number of new contract offers.
Spurs’ managing director of football, Fabio Paratici is a big fan of the jet-heeled Spanish international, having tried to bring him to north London in January, only for the 26-year-old to join Barcelona on loan for the remainder of the campaign. However, the La Liga giants opted against making the move permanent.
Traore is one of a number of players who Tottenham are currently considering before the transfer window slams shut on September 1st.
Our view
Traore is a player who comes with a lot of limitations, but his strengths make him a really unique player. Whilst he played as a winger for Barcelona, the Spaniard is equally adept at playing as a wing-back.
He is great going forward and can offer a lot to Antonio Conte’s side. His defensive abilities are still a cause for concern, however, his potency lies with his pace and ability to cause problems down the right wing for the opposition.
