Tottenham are struggling to find new clubs for the out-of-favour quartet Giovani Lo Celso, Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele and Sergio Reguilon and might be forced to loan them out instead, according to The Sun.
Antonio Conte left the four players out of Tottenham’s pre-season tour to South Korea to send a very clear message that they do not feature in his plans for the upcoming season and the club tried negotiating deals for all four players with any interest parties. (The Athletic)
Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with moves to Fiorentina and Villarreal, where he spent the second half of last season but a move has failed to materialse as of yet (Evening Standard).
Club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele is also surplus to requirements and there have been reports of interest from Villarreal (Get French Football News) with the French midfielder looking to get his career back on track after failing to also impress at former club Lyon in the second half of the previous campaign.
Sergio Reguilon had attracted interest from old club Sevilla, but they have since taken Manchester United Alex Telles on loan. Harry Winks is said to be no closer to leaving his boyhood club with Tottenham struggling to find a club to take him on a permanent basis.
Our view
Considering the number of signings that we have made to reinforce our squad for next season, there is not a place for everyone in Conte’s squad and it comes as no surprise that the axe is set to fall on a few players.
Spurs will want to shift the above-mentioned quarter out as soon as possible. With this being a World Cup year, the four players in question will also want to move to a place where they can get proper game time after seeing their time in north London come to an end.
