Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to make contact with Udinese to ask about their valuation of Rodrigo Becao, according to Italian news outlet Mesaggero Veneto.

The report claims that the Serie A side are prepared to sell the Brazilian with Torino and Everton having shown the most interest in the 26-year-old.

Udinese are said to be willing to sell the central defender for around £16.9 million, with the player under contract at the Dacia Arena until the summer of 2024 and has made over 100 appearances for the club since joining from CSKA Moscow in 2019 (Transfermarkt).

Tottenham have already added to their central defensive ranks this summer following the arrival of Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona, while a deal for Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence is also said to be close (The Athletic).

Our View

With Spurs having set their sights on Alessandro Bastoni and Josko Gvardiol this summer, they look set to come up empty-handed in their top two targets.   While Lenglet may have joined from Barcelona, it feels that he has been brought in as a temporary stopgap until one of those at the top of their shopping list becomes available.

There were also reports linking the north Londoners with  Gleison Bremer back in March (Tuttosport), however Inter are said to be closing in on the Torino defender.
